Marketplace accounts

Protect your brand and unlock Amazon brand tools.

A registered UK trademark stops copycats and opens Amazon Brand Registry: A+ content, a Brand Store, Sponsored Brands ads and faster listing control. We check the mark is available, file it with the UK Intellectual Property Office and enrol your brand on Amazon as soon as the application is accepted.

Why a UK trademark matters for marketplace sellers

Without a trademark, anyone can list under your brand name, hijack your Amazon listings or copy your eBay store. A registered UK trademark gives you the legal right to stop them and is the key that unlocks Amazon Brand Registry.

The UK IPO application

  • Search: we check the UK register for identical and similar marks before you spend anything.
  • Classes: goods and services are grouped into classes; we advise which ones your products actually need so you are protected without overpaying.
  • Filing: the application is prepared and filed with the UK Intellectual Property Office. Official IPO fees are paid separately and shown to you up front.
  • Examination and publication: the IPO examines the mark, publishes it for a two-month opposition period and then registers it if no one objects.

Amazon Brand Registry enrolment

Amazon accepts a pending UK trademark application for Brand Registry, so you do not have to wait for full registration. We enrol the brand, verify the connection between your trademark and your seller account, and set up A+ content and your Brand Store so the benefits start immediately.

After registration

A UK trademark lasts ten years and can be renewed indefinitely. We remind you before renewal, and if your brand sells into the EU or further afield we can advise on extending protection.

Ask a question
How long does UK trademark registration take?
If there are no objections, roughly four to six months from filing to registration. Amazon Brand Registry can be set up while the application is still pending.
What do the IPO fees cost?
The UK IPO charges an official fee for the first class and a further fee for each additional class. These are paid to the IPO and are separate from our fixed price; we confirm the total before filing.
Can you register a trademark that someone else already uses?
Not if an identical or confusingly similar mark is registered for the same goods. Our search flags conflicts first so you can adjust the name or logo before filing.
Do I need a logo or just the name?
A word mark protects the name in any style and is usually the better first filing. A logo can be filed as a second mark if the design itself is important.
Does Brand Registry work for eBay too?
Brand Registry is Amazon's programme. On eBay, a registered trademark lets you report infringing listings through eBay's VeRO programme.
